WELLS MEDIA GROUP

Wells High School is starting a media group.
The purpose of the Wells Media Group is to give students the opportunity to use their writing, acting and creativity skills. Students will work with experienced staff to update the Wells High School website, start the Wells TV Channel One Network, and create professional video tours of Wells High School that will be used for recruiting purposes.

Students will meet every Tuesday after school at 3:15 in room 314. Our first meeting will be this Tuesday March 10th 2009. To sign up for the Wells media Group please see Ms. Taylor in room 314. The sign up deadline will be this Friday March 7th 2009.

Wells High School Makes the News and the Radio for doing something good for the first time.

Wells High School hosted its first successful Christmas charity dinner on December 18, 2008. With the help of the organizers Ms. Taylor, Giorgio Pena (wells student), all the students and teachers who volunteered and put forward lots of effort and time to make it a successful night for the homeless men, woman, and children that live in the Chicago streets day and night.

Mission

The staff at Wells Community Academy High School views education as an ongoing, collaborative process, which fosters a sense of community. Ourmission is to have students, parents, teachers, staff, and the greater community work together to create an environment that promotes a rigorous educational and supportive social structure where teaching and learning are paramount. All students will receive a solid foundation of academic knowledge and marketable skills, while striving to meet national and local standards. Because of their experiences at Wells Community Academy High School, students will become life-long learners as well as responsible members of society, prepared for post-secondary education and the work force.
